National telecoms carrier, Globacom will on Saturday September
6th hold town hall meetings with prospective agents of Glo
Xchange, the Mobile Money Agent Network in partnership with
Ecobank, First Bank, StanbicIBTC, and Zenith Bank in some
major markets across the country.
The meetings will afford the prospective agents the opportunity
to discover the huge business in the mobile money industry,
learn the rudiments of the mobile money distribution process
and the technicalities of the transaction.
It will also give the prospects the opportunity to ask questions
and finalize their application.
According to the Head of Mobile Money Financial Business
Department in Globacom, Mr. Esaie Diei, the event will hold in
five different locations simultaneously. The locations are Ibadan
at Genesis hotel, Challenge; Constantial Hotel, Airport Road,
Benin; Immaculate Hotel Annexe, Wuse 2, Abuja; Landmark
Hotel, Port Harcourt; Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos Mainland, and
Orchid Hotel, Lekki, Ajah Road, on Lagos Island.
Diei said that Globacom will recruit and train agents for Glo
Xchange nationwide and provide its massive network of outlets
pan Nigeria for the platform while the partner banks will provide
their mobile money platform to mobile phone subscribers in
compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s policy on mobile
payment.
